1. About the Service
Cozy ("Cozy", "the App") is an iOS mood-tracking and virtual pet companion application developed by SignalRender Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). Cozy lets you log moods through a five-second daily ritual, grow a virtual pet companion, and — at Premium tier — visualize Heart Rate Variability (HRV) stress trends from Apple HealthKit. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cozy.
By installing or using Cozy, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cozy. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must use Cozy with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
3. License to Use
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Cozy on Apple devices you own or control, solely for your own non-commercial use. You may not:
- Distribute, sell, resell, rent, sublicense, or commercialize Cozy or any part of it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code, except to the extent such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
- Use Cozy to violate any law or third-party right.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Cozy in a lawful and respectful manner. Mood entries and notes you create are your own, but you remain responsible for the content you produce, including ensuring it does not infringe third-party rights or contain unlawful material.
Cozy is a wellness companion, not a medical device. Cozy does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or mental health condition. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact a qualified professional or emergency services immediately.
5. HealthKit and HRV Data
If you enable the HRV feature (Premium), Cozy reads HRV samples from Apple HealthKit on a read-only basis. The HRV trend curves and weekly insights surfaced inside the app are informational only and must not be interpreted as medical advice or diagnostic output. Cozy never writes to HealthKit and never transmits HealthKit data off your device.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
Cozy offers a free tier and Premium plans. Premium is available as:
- Monthly subscription (auto-renewing)
- Annual subscription (auto-renewing)
- One-time lifetime purchase (non-recurring)
All purchases are processed by Apple via In-App Purchase and are governed by your Apple ID, the Apple Media Services Terms, and the App Store's price and currency at the time of purchase.
Auto-renewal disclosure: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iOS device. Uninstalling Cozy does not cancel an active subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy; we do not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds independently.
7. User Content
Your mood entries, notes, and other content you create inside Cozy ("User Content") remain your property. We do not claim any ownership over User Content. Because Cozy is local-first, User Content is stored on your device by default and is not uploaded to our servers.
8. Intellectual Property
The Cozy name, logo, pet companion artwork, animations, illustrations, UI design, source code, and all related materials are the property of SignalRender Inc. or our licensors, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to our trademarks, brand assets, or proprietary code beyond the limited license in section 3.
9. Service Availability
We will make reasonable efforts to keep Cozy functional and to address bugs, but we do not guarantee that Cozy will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with or without notice.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Cozy is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, or uninterrupted operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall SignalRender Inc., its affiliates, officers, employees, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, Cozy — regardless of the legal theory and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
12. Termination
You may stop using Cozy at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access to Cozy if you materially breach these Terms or use Cozy in a manner that is unlawful, abusive, or harmful to others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.
13. Apple's Standard EULA
To the extent applicable, your use of Cozy is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at:

If there is any conflict between these Terms and Apple's standard EULA, these Terms control to the extent permitted, except where Apple's terms are required by Apple to govern.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice. Continued use of Cozy after the effective date of an update indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Cozy shall first be addressed by good-faith negotiation between you and us; failing that, the dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Singapore, unless otherwise required by your local mandatory consumer-protection law.
