This Privacy Policy explains how InkBoard, operated by SignalRender Inc. ("we", "us"), handles information when you use the InkBoard app (the "Service"). InkBoard is a local-first whiteboard and note-taking app — your notes stay on your device.
1. Information We Collect
- No account — InkBoard has no login or account system; we do not collect your name, email, or identity.
- Your content stays on your device — notes, boards, drawings, scanned documents, audio notes, and inserted photos are stored locally on your device. We do not upload them.
- Anonymous usage analytics — events tied to a random per-installation identifier (not your Apple ID, not IDFA), together with app version, OS version, device model, and locale.
- Crash diagnostics — aggregated crash reports used to improve stability.
- App attribution — we may use Apple's Search Ads attribution API (no IDFA, no tracking prompt) to understand install sources.
2. On-Device Processing
- Camera — used to scan documents into your notes; processed on your device.
- Photo library — used to insert images you select; processed on your device.
- Microphone — used to record audio notes, which are saved into your document on your device.
- Handwriting recognition (OCR) uses Apple's on-device Vision framework; recognized text does not leave your device.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide note-taking and whiteboard features;
- Diagnose technical issues and improve reliability;
- Understand aggregate, anonymous usage and install sources.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we never share your notes or content with anyone. Data leaves your device only as anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics sent to our own backend. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
5. Data Retention
Your notes and all content remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Anonymous analytics are aggregated by random installation identifier. We hold no account or server-side personal data about you.
6. Your Choices
- On-device content — delete individual documents in the app, or remove everything by uninstalling.
- Analytics opt-out — analytics are on by default and there is currently no in-app toggle; to opt out, contact us and we will disable collection for your installation.
7. Children's Privacy
InkBoard is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
8. International Data Transfers
Anonymous analytics may be processed in countries other than the one where you reside. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized by your local law.
9. Security
Your content is stored locally on your device. Analytics are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No system is perfectly secure — if you discover a vulnerability, please contact us responsibly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
