1. About the Service
Selene ("Selene", "the App") is an iOS moon-phase and moon-tracking app developed by SignalRender Inc. ("we", "us"). Selene calculates tonight's moon phase, rise/set times, position in the sky, and a plain-language verdict on whether it's worth looking up — using on-device astronomical calculations and, where available, weather data. The Selene Pro tier unlocks unlimited time travel to any past or future date, weather-aware rare-event alerts, multiple saved locations, and advanced AR sky alignment. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Selene.
By installing or using Selene, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Selene. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must use it with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
3. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Selene on Apple devices you own or control. You may not:
- distribute, sell, resell, rent, sublicense, or commercialize Selene or any part of it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code (except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law);
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
- use Selene to violate any law or third-party right.
4. Always-Free Core
Today's moon phase, the full monthly calendar (including moonrise/set and full/new moon names), the AR "find the moon" view, one home-screen widget, and a basic nightly verdict are always free and will never be placed behind a paywall. This commitment is part of the product's design, not a promotional offer subject to change without notice to you in-app.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
Selene Pro is available as a recurring subscription (monthly or annual, auto-renewing) or a one-time lifetime purchase, at the price and currency shown on the App Store at the time of purchase. All purchases are handled by Apple via In-App Purchase and are subject to your Apple ID and the Apple Media Services Terms.
Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iOS device. Uninstalling Selene does not cancel an active subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple under its refund policy; we do not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds independently.
6. Astronomical Accuracy
Selene's moon-position and phase calculations are consumer-grade estimates intended for casual sky-watching, photography planning, and general interest. They are not navigation-grade, surveying-grade, or suitable for any safety-critical purpose. Where weather data is unavailable for your location or date, Selene will say so plainly rather than presenting a fabricated forecast — but astronomical predictions, like any forecast, may still differ from what you observe.
7. Intellectual Property
The Selene name, logo, verdict language, UI design, source code, and all related materials are the property of SignalRender Inc. or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks, brand assets, or proprietary code beyond the limited license in Section 3.
8. Service Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep Selene available and to fix defects, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with or without notice.
9. Disclaimer
Selene is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, or uninterrupted operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SignalRender Inc. and its affiliates, officers, employees, or licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use Selene — under any legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Termination
You may stop using Selene at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the App unlawfully, abusively, or in a way that harms others. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.
12. Apple Standard EULA
To the extent applicable, your use of Selene is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement:

If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA, these Terms prevail to the extent permitted, unless Apple requires its terms to apply.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced via in-app notice. Continued use of Selene after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Selene shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation; failing that, in the courts of Singapore, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws in your place of residence require otherwise.
