Tinta: Photo Color Palette · FAQ

What is Tinta?
Tinta reads the colors hidden in your photos and mounts them as an editorial color card — a "color note" worth printing and sharing. It finds the palette that matters (subject-aware, not the muted wall behind it), gives every swatch its exact HEX value, and frames it with a gallery of mount styles like instant, film strip, arch window, diptych, spread, and deckle edge. Everything runs locally on your iPhone.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Tinta is fully on-device: there is no account, no sign-in, no ads, and no tracking SDKs. Your photos are read and framed entirely on your phone and never leave it, and we do not collect or sell your data. Even the place a photo was taken is resolved with an offline gazetteer, so no location is ever sent to a server.
How does Tinta choose which colors to pull?
Tinta clusters the colors in your photo and weights them toward the subject, so it captures the true hero colors — the rust of a dress, the teal of the sea — instead of the largest patch of background gray. The result is a set of draggable paint chips, each carrying its exact HEX value, that you can rearrange until the card feels right.
What do I get with Tinta Pro?
Pro unlocks every mount style (the ones marked with a lock badge), harmony color suggestions, custom typography, and watermark-free print-grade export — up to 4K, lossless PNG, and P3 wide-gamut color. The free tier lets you extract palettes from any photo, use the core frame styles, and export a card, so you can see how Tinta fits before subscribing.
What is the difference between Monthly and Yearly?
Both are auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock the same Tinta Pro; Yearly simply costs less per month than paying month to month. You can switch between them at any time from your Apple ID subscription settings, and Apple handles all billing.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open iOS Settings → tap your Apple ID at the top → Subscriptions → Tinta → Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and Pro stays available until then. Apple manages all subscription billing; Tinta cannot charge or refund you directly.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
On the paywall, tap "Restore Purchase". This re-checks your Apple ID and re-activates your subscription — handy after reinstalling or switching devices. Because purchases are tied to your Apple ID, no account or password is needed.
What can I export, and how good is the quality?
Tinta exports your color card as an image. The free tier exports at a standard size with a small watermark; Pro removes the watermark and unlocks print-grade output — up to 4K resolution, lossless PNG, and P3 wide-gamut color, with clean edges and real optical grain that hold up in print or on the grid. Everything is rendered on-device.
