Overview
Tinta is built on-device and privacy-first. Your photos, extracted color palettes, and finished color cards are stored only on your device by default. Tinta requires no account, collects no personally identifiable information (PII), contains no third-party tracking SDKs, and never uploads your photos to any server. This policy explains what data Tinta touches, how it is handled, and the choices you have.
1. What data is involved — and where it lives
1.1 Data stored only on your device
- Photos: The photos you choose are read locally only to extract colors. They never leave your device and are never uploaded or backed up to our servers.
- Palettes and works: Extracted paint chips and finished cards are stored in Tinta's app sandbox (on your device).
- Location: The place shown on a card's caption is resolved locally via an offline place-name database (GeoNames) — no network calls, no online location services.
1.2 Data we do not collect
- No account, email, name, or device-identifier profiling.
- No behavioral analytics, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDKs.
2. Subscriptions & Payments
Tinta Pro subscriptions are handled through the Apple App Store. Payment, renewal, and refunds are managed by Apple — we never see your payment information. Subscription status is verified locally from the Apple-provided receipt.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share any of your data. Because data lives only on your device, we technically cannot access it.
4. Your Rights & Choices
- Deletion: Deleting a work removes its data from your device; uninstalling Tinta deletes all local data in the app sandbox.
- Photo permission: You can adjust Tinta's photo access at any time in Settings → Privacy → Photos.
5. Children's Privacy
Tinta is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
