What Happens When a Profile Refresh Fails | Raven
Frequently asked questions
- Can I import my own Clash profile and have it validated?
- Yes. Imports and refreshes are fully validated first, before anything is published.
- What happens to my connection if a refresh fails?
- Nothing. A failed download or an invalid profile never replaces the working version, so the tunnel keeps running on what you already had.
- What does Raven validate?
- The profile itself — a refresh is checked in full before publication rather than applied and then checked.
- Does Raven run its own servers?
- No. It provides no proxy servers, has no accounts, and does not upload traffic history.
The short answer
Raven is an iPhone network client for your own proxy nodes and Clash-compatible profile sources. It validates profiles before publication and keeps the last-known-good profile when refreshes fail.
What "validated before publication" actually means
The ordering is the feature, not the validation itself.
A profile can be checked in two ways: apply it and then see whether it works, or check it first and publish only if it passes. Only the second order means a bad profile cannot take your connection down.
Raven does the second. Imports and refreshes are fully validated first; a failed download or invalid profile never replaces the working version.
The failure that actually happens
Subscription links expire, servers get renamed, a refresh returns HTML instead of YAML. In apps that apply-then-check, that is a moment where your tunnel is down and you are reading logs instead of doing anything.
Here it is a non-event: the running configuration is simply still the one that worked.
What Raven is not
It provides no proxy servers, has no accounts, and does not upload traffic history.
