Save the Info in a Screenshot Before Deleting It | SnapSweep

Frequently asked questions

Can SnapSweep pull a phone number out of a screenshot?
Yes. Optical text extraction pulls phone numbers, URLs, addresses and verification codes out of screenshots before you delete them.
What can I do with what it extracts?
One tap to call, open, navigate, or copy.
When does the extraction happen — before or after deletion?
Before. The point of the Info Vault is that the information survives the image.
Does it find near-duplicate photos too?
Separately, yes. Similar-photo detection finds near-duplicates so you can keep only the best shot, and a video size analyzer suggests HEVC compression.

The short answer

The reason people do not delete screenshots is not sentiment — it is that a screenshot is often the only copy of something practical: a phone number, an address, a tracking link, a verification code you still need.

SnapSweep's Info Vault does optical text extraction to pull those out, so deleting the image does not lose the information.

What it extracts

Phone numbers, URLs, addresses and verification codes — the four categories that are actually useful a month later.

Once extracted: one tap to call, open, navigate, or copy.

The ordering is the feature

Extraction happens before deletion. That ordering is the whole point — the value is not in recognising a phone number, it is in recognising it while the screenshot is still there so the screenshot can safely go.

This is the difference between a cleaner that forces you to choose between storage and convenience, and one that does not.

Also in the box

The same pass finds the other two things that make deleting a photo library hard:

  • Similar-photo detection — find near-duplicates and keep only the best shot
  • Video size analyzer — with HEVC compression suggestions
