Check How Your Pay Estimate Was Calculated | HourStamp

Frequently asked questions

Can I see how HourStamp calculated an estimate?
Yes. Hourly basis, cycle dates and multipliers stay visible on the estimate rather than only the total.
Can HourStamp check a payslip against my ledger?
Yes. Photograph or choose a payslip and it recognises common pay items on device, then compares them with your estimate.
What if the payslip recognition is wrong or incomplete?
Rely on the original payslip and a manual review. Recognition is an aid, not the authority.
What happens if I edit a record later?
Explicit later edits retain a revision entry. The original stays traceable rather than being silently replaced.

The short answer

Most timesheets hand you a total. HourStamp shows the work behind it: hourly basis, cycle dates and multipliers stay visible on the estimate, so a figure you disagree with has somewhere to point.

Comparing against a payslip

You can photograph or choose a payslip, and HourStamp recognises common pay items on device and compares them with your ledger estimate.

The honest limit: if recognition is incomplete, rely on the original payslip and a manual review. Optical recognition is an aid that narrows where to look; the original document is the authority. Treating a recognised total as settled is how a mismatch gets missed.

The revision trail

Stamping a record freezes its device time, pay settings and day-level calculation. Later edits are retained as a revision entry rather than overwriting the record.

So the history is legible: what was recorded, when, and what changed afterwards. One caveat belongs with it — a stamp is not third-party trusted time. It is your device's record of a moment, which is useful for personal record keeping and is not a notarised timestamp.
