Customer Sign-Off Tied to a Report Version | JobProof

Frequently asked questions

Is the customer's signature tied to the exact version they signed?
Yes. The acknowledgement is recorded against the exact report version reviewed, and kept with the delivery history.
Is this identity verification or a contract?
No. It is not identity verification and not a substitute for a contract.
What delivery history does JobProof keep?
A local history of report versions, acknowledgement state, delivery time, and the share method you selected.
Where does this data live?
On your device. There is no JobProof account and no app-managed cloud sync.

The short answer

Delivering a report and proving the customer received that report are different problems, and the second one is where disputes live.

JobProof records the customer's name, acknowledgement and optional signature against the exact report version they reviewed, and keeps that acknowledgement with the delivery history.

Why "tied to the version" is the whole point

If a report can be corrected after delivery, then a signature on it means nothing — it attests to a version that may no longer exist.

Binding the acknowledgement to a specific version makes it mean something specific: this is what the customer acknowledged. It is also why corrections create a new version rather than replacing a delivered one.

What it is not

Stated plainly, because "sign-off" invites a stronger reading:

It is not identity verification and not a substitute for a contract.

It records that a name, an acknowledgement and an optional signature were attached to a report version. Deciding whether that constitutes an enforceable agreement is a legal question this app does not answer.

Know what was sent

JobProof keeps a local history of report versions, acknowledgement state, delivery time, and the share method you selected.

That last field matters more than it looks: when a dispute arrives, the first question is usually not "what did the report say" but "how did they receive it, and when".

Local-first

No JobProof account and no app-managed cloud sync — photos, customer details, signatures and reports remain on your device unless you export or share them.
