Read HRV Stress Insights from Apple Health | Cozy
Frequently asked questions
- Does Cozy read my heart rate variability from Apple Health?
- Yes, read-only and optional. Cozy reads HRV; it does not write to Health.
- Is it opt-in?
- Yes. The Apple Health connection is optional, so nothing is read until you turn it on.
- What does Premium unlock in the HRV features?
- Triggers, recovery patterns and advice. The weekly and monthly trends beside your moods are shown regardless.
- Where are my entries stored?
- Entries are local by default. Optional encrypted iCloud sync is off by default, and analytics are anonymous only.
The short answer
Mood on its own tells you how you felt. HRV tells you what your body was doing. Putting the two side by side is the whole point.
Cozy reads heart rate variability from Apple Health — read-only, optional — and shows weekly and monthly stress trends beside your mood entries.
Read-only, and that means what it says
Two properties worth being precise about:
- It reads HRV and does not write to Health. Nothing you do in Cozy appears as a Health sample for other apps to see.
- It is optional. Until you turn on the connection, nothing is read.
What the trends are for
HRV falls when you are stressed, ill or under-recovered, and rises when you are not. Beside a mood entry, that turns "I felt rough" into a question with two answers — was it the situation, or was it your body telling you something before you noticed.
Premium unlocks triggers, recovery patterns and advice. The weekly and monthly trends beside your moods are shown regardless.
Where your entries live
Entries are local by default. Optional encrypted iCloud sync is off by default — so if you want your history on two devices, that is a decision you make, not a default you inherited. Analytics are anonymous only.
