The short answer
There is one number that predicts whether you will still be using a mood tracker in November: how many taps it takes to log a mood. Opening the app is one tap too many.
Cozy ships a Home Screen widget so you can log a mood without opening it.
Why a widget and not a shortcut
A shortcut still means finding the app, waiting for it to launch, and finding the button. A widget is already on the screen, so the gesture survives the moment of actually wanting to record something — which is the only moment that matters.
This is the same reason the companion sits on the home tab: the friction that kills a habit is always in the seconds before it starts, never after.
Where your entries live
- Entries are local by default
- Optional encrypted iCloud sync is off by default — bringing your history to a second device is a decision you make, not one you inherit
